A great guide for the greatest game...
Strategy guides for sports games don't come around often, but dedicating one to the most perfect football simulation ever was a welcome idea. I have been playing Konami's series right back from PES1, and yet after reading this guide my knowledge of the games' intricacies and details has pretty much doubled.

This guidebook is perfect for total newcomers AND seasoned experts of PES. It's 219 pages are crammed with useful and clearly laid out details covering all aspects of the game; from a thorough analysis of all the major club and international teams to a comprehensive guide to controls and team management. It tackles the many parts of the epic Master League mode and takes you through the edit modes and game options.

The makers of this guide, "Piggyback Interactive", worked closely with PES's mastermind Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka to make this a good as possible, and therefore absolutely every player animation, attribute and features have been uncovered in detail. Veterens of this title will be astonished to find that they actually know very little of what is possible in this game, and it will take hours on the practice fround to get all the flicks and tricks just right.

This guide will definately enhance your experience of playing this great game, and the writers deserve a lot of credit for the obvious effort they have put in to the book.

Invaluable Guide
I bought this book because I was fed up with feeling cheated by PES5 & figured I must be doing something wrong. The book has given me lots of sound advice &, in particular, I manage to foul a little less because of it.

The book is broken down into relevant sections & actually makes an interesting/enjoyable cover-to-cover read. The Coaching Manual section is a must read for all levels of PES5 player. It has even inspired me to try using 'Tactics' which I've never bothered with before now.

I still feel that PES5 lacks integrity & frequently favours the CPU against the player, but at least this books gives you a good insight into the workings of the game.
