In 1973, when the product celebrated its 150th anniversary, the Mustard Shop opened in Norwich, Norfolk, and has since become a much-visited, much-loved tourist attraction in the city. This year, four limited-edition vintage tins have been launched to mark another 40 years in the business of mustard-making. It is easy to spot this eye-catching yellow and red covered book, dedicated to Colman's Mustard, one in a series by Paul Hartley.

In no particular order, the recipes are listed at the front before
the book's 80 high quality shiny pages.
Lots of colour archive pictures, but not of the finished recipes themselves, so may not appeal to those who like to see what they are aiming for!
Having said that the recipes are clearly laid out and very easy to follow.

`Hot Facts', 'Cold Truths', and general information boxes intersperse the book, making it a handy reference.

Father often said: "Mr. Coleman didn't make his £millions from the mustard people used for Sunday lunch, he made it with how much they washed down to sink!"
And this is true. Evertone puts too much on their plate, and rarely eats the whole lot. If it's made from the powder in a mustard pot then it wastes even more.
But hey, whatever, this book is knockout. Most of us are reserved enough to think mustard is good on roast beef and ham. It is, but the recipes herein are a massive panacea in convincing you otherwise. It will tempt you into experimenting further with this ground yellow seed in ways you had never before dreamed, and, if you like a bit of hot and are bored with what the local curry house has on offer, try the ENGLISH equivalent and learn how to catch your tongue on fire Churchill style, instead of Ghandi! We ARE British, and this is our reply!
