CD Description
Singer Rob Zombie and his cohorts in White Zombie realise that the greatest and most intense horrors stem from simple and innocent sources. And that musical virtuosity plays little or no part in conveying the feelings of dread that the band specialises in. So rather than revel in extended solos, orwrite complex musical passages like most successful bands in the post-modern metal community, White Zombie achieve the desired effect (emotionally tweaking the listener) by concentrating on the little things: opening the heavy dirge of "Grease Paint And Monkey Brains" with an out of tune merry-go-round theme that slows down to a halt, or adding an eerie church organ to the full-on throttle of "Electric Head Pt. 1 (The Agony)". You know, real cool, B-grade horror movie-type stuff.
White Zombie have long existed in that particular, aesthetic corner of the pop culture universe. But on ASTRO-CREEP 2000, the band embraces programming, samples and other effects as never before, placing the "future" emphasis of the title directly into the music. The more technologically advanced noises also make White Zombie sound faster, leaner, meaner--a laser-gun of angst-ridden heaviness, instead of theusual cannon. Just listen to the background voice loop on "Electric Head Pt. 2 (The Ecstasy)", driving the band with the techno mantra of "Go! Go! Go!" It's a moment indicative ofmuch of ASTRO-CREEP 2000--taking the band's established themes and tempos, and placing them on the electronic super-highway to hell.

Will this CD ever leave my CD player?5
I can't get enough of this CD. Some bands have their time, and their moment, and this was White Zombie's. Nothing before or after has ever touched it. Proper early 90's metal!

So many instant classics. My favourate is still Blood, Milk and Sky. But then every Metaller knows More Human Than Human, and every metaller loves Super Charger Heavan (my childhood was changed by that song). Real Solution 9 has the best intro ever, possibly just behind I Zombie (which is just stonking). Everywhere else on this album, it just reaks quality! Electric Head pts 1 and 2 just stick in your head, and Blur the technicolor is sly and sing-able. I just can't say a bad word about this album!

Put this baby on, and remember why metal, and music in general, is so good!

Censors spoil a good album.3
A good album, badly let down by being so heavily sanitized. At first you think it is your cd player skipping, but then you realise that it is the disc itself. If you want this album, I suggest you go for the explicit lyrics version, you will be much happier with your buy.

Classic Alternative Rock5
There are only a few CD's that make you feel perfect after listening to them, and this is definately one of them. The whole album is quality with only one song (Electric Head Pt.2) dipping ever so slightly below the excellence of the others. The music is heavy in all the right areas especially on the thunderous Creature of the Wheel and Super Charger Heaven. My favourite tracks however, are the fantastically different Real Solution #9 and the end track Blood, Milk and Sky which is the only slower song on the album but is amazing. Even the 'hidden track' is brilliant!
This is the best work to come from Rob Zombie and really makes me wish that the band were still together. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes loud, heavy music!

N.B. My copy was NOT a clean version (as mentioned above) so had no skipping!
