Despite the occasional uptempo foray, FLAME is dominated by gently grooving midtempo tracks that allow LaBelle to work her sultry magic, cooing and growling her way through some state-of-the-art R&B. While there are no major departures from thesound that we've come to identify with LaBelle, FLAME serves as a gentle reminder that she's still a force to be reckoned with.

Flame is a brilliant album, i truly believe it is one if not her best, such beautiful songs sang by a voice to melt your heart and fire up your soul. Patti Labelle is certainly found a winner in this album, every song has its unique qualities, and absorbs your every thought. A real masterpiece from an exceptional artist. HEAVEN!.

I know I am biased because Patti LaBelle is my favourite female artiste of all time ...!!!
But seriously, sometimes I do not think she is given the material her excellent voice deserves..not in this case. An excellent collection of material..The title track, plus the excellent 'Does he love you' stand out, but all in all an excellent album.
