Customer Reviews
Great new versions of her classic songs, and much more!
Fans always have reservations about new versions of classic songs. Wouldn't the originals be best left unchanged? In most cases the answer is 'yes'. But not in Buffy's case. Her maturity gives her a new perspective on her early work, which she uses to advantage. There are new songs as well, and an excellent lyric booklet with lots of information and nice photos of her too. Her tremendous enthusiasm for life comes across in all the songs; 'Starwalker', with its native American sounds, shows her at her best. The title track alone makes the album worth having.
Astounding!
I first heard of Buffy when i heard The Big Ones Get Away many years ago and was always looking for a cd that would allow me to get a great overview of her career.
This cd features re-recordings of her earlier greats so i thought i would give it a go and i was astounded by the quality of what is on offer here....fantastically emotive songs sung by a woman with a truly expressive unique voice. Every track offers you something deep and thoughtful, yet without ever letting the message over power the music.
If you are a fan of great music and want to listen to one of the most talented female singer songwriters ever then give this a go-it is really that good.
