One of the most famous albums in the world and definitely the most famous album sleeve, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' ushered in the psychedelic era and the 'Summer of Love' and remains the pinnacle of British psychedelia. From the whimsy of 'When I'm 64' to the stunning orchestration of 'A Day In The Life', the melancholia of 'She's Leaving Home'to Ringo's solo spot 'With A Little Help From My Friends' the album is a true pop masterpiece.

Amazon.co.uk Review
Before Sgt. Pepper's, no one seriously thought of rock music as actual art. That all changed in 1967, though, when John, Paul, George and Ringo (with "A Little Help" from their friend, producer George Martin) created an undeniable work of art which remains, after 3-plus decades, one of the most influential albums of all time. From Lennon's evocative word/sound pictures (the trippy "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds", the carnival-like "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite") and McCartney's music hall-styled "When I'm 64", to Harrison's Eastern-leaning "Within You Without You", and the avant-garde mini-suite, "A Day in the Life", Sgt. Pepper's was a milestone for both 1960s music and popular culture in general. --Billy Altman
Customer Reviews
The greatest album of all time?
No, not to me. My favourite album is THE GEESE AND THE GHOST by Anthony Phillips. And my favourite band is Genesis (during the 70's).
Usually when an album is called "the greatest album of all time" it's not particularly good at all. It's just in some way or another unique, without having good material enough to fill the entire album.
SGT PEPPER is however an exception. I was born way after this album came out, so I can't really say how it felt listening to it as something entirely new. I can only guess. The only reason I'm giving this 5 stars is because the songs are really good.
BEATLES' MASTERPIECE
And the music will never be the same...
This album was the greatest example of how INCREDIBLE and CREATIVE this group's evolution can be; the mysticism (WITHIN YOU, WITHOUT YOU), the inspiration (SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND), the friendship (WITH A LITTLE HELP OF MY FRIENDS), the romanticism (LOVELY RITA), The psychedelic (LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS), sad stories (SHE'S LEAVING HOME), old melodies (WHEN I'M 64), the mystery (BENEFIT OF MR. KITE!), the chaos (A DAY IN THE LIFE)... there are no words to explain this phenomenal entity... THE MAGIC "PEPPER"!!!
This band my be all about commercialism but damn they are good.
I'm sure every has heard this band if not then buy this album every boy whos a music lover should buy this album if they dont have it. I found it strange when i first listend to it cause i'm a massive fan of the metal genre it is a brilliant album. Best track is With a little help with my friend. great pop rock album it's then alot of commercial rock music thats out today. A must for every music fan.
