Hello there, well, we all have it sometimes, you hear a song on a radio somewhere that gives you goosebumbs and electricity. I passed the treshold and , no matter where I am at that moment, I start asking anyone near me what that song would be.For this ELP song I was not able to, cause I was sitting on the attic of my home playing with my trains on Christmas evening(somewhere back in '82). The radio was on,CFNB-Canadian Forces Network Brunssum, a radiostation for G.I.'s stationed in my hometown Brunssum and this song came by.....the title was mentioned before it was broadcasted so I missed it, the programm closed. I cried because I could only tape 1/3th of it. The song never reached me again. I kept wondering what this song could be and all those years I sometimes tried to scan for it.I did not listen to radio for years. And then , suddenly, last night(24th December), I was zapping the TV channels and the BBC had a nice Christmasclip compilation of the days of yesterday, I kept whatching and then.........the announcement"Greg lake's - I believe...." , THIS WAS IT! THIS IS IT!! My heart stopped beating for 3 minutes untill the song ended. Then it went quick(long live the internet). I found it all out: King Crimson->E.L.P.-> Greg lake-> MY SONG. I will order a CD in the record shop I used to work in ( sorry). And you know what? That shop receives mail from an ex-G.I. called Arlo Ogden. I even met him here in Brunssum during a party at the NCO-club(about 20 years ago), he was the DJ. Cool, now here comes the irony and yes you can figure it out, I called my ex-colleague this morning and told him about this story and he insured me that it was Arlo that was DJ-ing that show. Believe me , To me this song is the best Christmas song ever(sorry John, sorry Bing, sorry Dean). The way it is sung, Greg's magical voice, unbelievable beautifull. If only the "Christmas magic" would return in my heart.....(sigh)....well...maybe with this song.....maybe.....If you have it, play it as loud as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers my friends, may all your dreams be beautifull. Sincerly Peter.

The best christmas song ever5
Greg Lake has probaly one of the finest voices in the world of rock and the track,I believe in Father Christmas, highlights the classical training and natural ability of his vocal skills. The songs on this are made for fun and they should be a must have for anybody who has savoured the music of E.L.P. over the years. I have to say I enjoy Humbug as much as the title track all because of a strange xmas back in the 70's. Well worth a listen and really worth purchasing.
