Investigating inyteresting styles in Hip Hop.5
At first listening most people would dismiss this album as been very weak, especially the production. I feel the need to set people straight on this. The production on this album is amazing the deeper you listen, and the jazzy undertones and bass in some tracks ('Two scoops of raisins') is refreshingly different to other sounds that were out at the time, and nowadays. Common Sense's freestyle rhymes are very daring in style, you would not hear any other emcee pull it off today, and is interesting to hear after listening to all this 'safe' sh*t around. The only very bad track on the album is 'Heidi Hoe' produced by the beatnuts. Immenslope (No i.d) and Twilite Tone (The late show's Ynot nevertheless) efforts are better, and the sampling of 'For the love of you' on 'Puppy Chow' works well. Very overlooked and outshone by Common's '94 classic ressurection. A worthy addition though to anyone's collection.
