Dynamite
I'm with 'A Customer'. I can't understand why everyone in the whole world doesn't buy this record. It's cool, sexy and shakes like a mad thing. It's proper soul music not that sycophantic greaseball stuff we had to hear in the eighties and ever since, you can hear a lot of respectable influences like Otis and James and reggae but King is his own geezer. Buy it. Now. No argument. Thankyou.
This is great southern soul
I bought this disc after hearing Groove Me on a soul compilation and getting hooked. Is King Floyd a one song wonder - no way. The disc is really varied, ranging from heart felt ballads to more ballsy stomps. The feel of the music owes a lot to Otis Redding but to say that it's a carbon copy is very wrong, and the inclusion of a cover of Too Hard to Handle is a nice touch.
This CD is certainly my favourite cd of late, sitting alongside Bill Withers and The Temptations
