Customer Reviews
Very Good and Very Emotional
There for all to see are his feelings and raw emotions on the break-up of his marriage. Hurt and anger and a whole bundle of other stuff also.
Favourite tracks would be "It's Easy To Talk", "Don't Speak Of My Heart" & "Love Affection"
Very raw, very sore, but at times very beautiful also. One of Gerry's best and so much desering of a greater audience.
Recommended.
one of GR's Best, deeply emotional and atmospheric
This album reflects gerrys emotions after his marriage break-up. Deeply emotional tracks all the way through this album give insights into the intensity of his situation. A truely masterful work that deserved greater recognition from the general public and music industry at large.Light of love track 11 stands out particularly.
Uncharacteristically lacklustre from usually exceptional artist
I've enjoyed Gerry Raffert's music for more years than I care to admit, but sadly, as a collection of songs, this album is the most unlistenable work that Rafferty has has ever released. Individually there are a few gems on here, but generally speaking this recording is for die-hard fans only. Newcomers to Rafferty's usually exceptional body of work would be better off trying Sleepwalking, Snakes and Ladders, City to City or Night Owl, all of which are far more accessible and melodic than On A Wing and a Prayer ever manages to be. Fortunately, Mr. Rafferty returned to form on his work following this generally disappointing anomaly.
