Absolute classic
Every track is wonderful. This has been one of my favourite albums in the whole wide world for years and, listening to it today for the first time in ages, it still is. Beautiful in every way - if in doubt buy it anyway, you won't be disappointed.
Top quality - a Top 3 Rea album....
Superb, each tracks evokes much emotion and heartache about his "old" town and life.
The classic's "Steel River" & "Stainsby girls" are the highlights but the whole album is top notch and even these tracks are best heard as part of whole album.
A quality CD, buy it - You will not be let down.
Brilliant
There's not much to say really. Other than the first two reviews, everyone has said what I think. Every song is brilliant, evocative and musically inspirational. This is where I think Chris really 'got going'. 'Steel River' and 'Stainsby Girls' we all know and love, but other, less well known songs such as 'Chisel Hill' and 'Hired Gun' have become classics to me. Excellent in every respect - including the cover!
