Customer Reviews
a sheer stunning album.
it was a little late to go the one-song-melting-into-another style of psychedelia, but here it is carried out with expertise.
My only quible is that the 2nd and final super-strumming guitar sequence of the last piece seems more like filler to make it to the end of the record
.
It is too bad we did not get album #4 which might have happened as they were together for another 2 years.
Repertoire has just remastered (well, 2006) St Radiguns and it sounds stunning.
I am told that Bells Boots & Shambles is next, maybe in the summer
Martin Cockerham was a genius
Barbara Gaskins voice is lovely silken, soothing intelligent-help me out here, Im running out of adjectives-any way a beauty to listen to
the kind of music trees listen to
...led by the visionary genius known as Martin Cockerham, this group provides a rich source of melodic, eeire, hypnotic, euphoric, BEAUTIFUL and genuine music. perfect soundtrack to a vivid dream,or an adventure in some beautiful woods.
Barbara gaskin's feminine, seductive voice, the trumpeter's mastery of melody, the violinist's immense talent, the bassist's sound...what more can i say...they are a bands band...i like to compare their sound to psychedelic folk legends COMUS and hippie goddess LINDA PERHACS, but still no group sounds like SPIROGYRA!!!!!!!
every album is like a good book telling a story you wish wont come to an end.
Listen to all their albums from first release to last for an unforgettable musical adventure!!!!!!
