Amazon.co.uk Review
As implausible as it seems now, back in 1994, three scruffy heavy-metal fans from Belfast were tipped to take over Nirvana's crown. Therapy? had hit upon a genuinely thrilling mash-up of punk, metal, speed, volume, pop and lyrics of pure Rockney: try "Masturbation saved my life" or "I know how Jeffrey Dahmer feels--lonely, lonely" on your pencil-case and see what Amanda in Personnel says. Troublegum was the band's mighty peak: "Screamager" rolls its sleeves up and gets on with the business of punching you repeatedly in the face with the power of rock; "Stop It You're Killing Me" has a triumvirate of power-chords that could stop Metallica in their steps, and by the time "Unrequited"'s thrown in its arse-kicking jazz time-signature and a minute of pure screaming--you'll be rejecting solids for a week. Class. --Caitlan Moran

*** Up There With The Best ***
Truely excellent album, if you like medium heavy music this is definitely worth a try.
I got it at the same time as Nirvanas Bleach, & both along with Metallica, RATM, Terrorvision, Pumpkins, Foo's, Motorhead, Ramones as well as many punk bands, some old school & nu- metal, indierock form my staple diet.
Its fair to say that virtually every track is as close to perfection as is possible. If it wasnt for the fact that I heard them do a rubbarsh song (Diane I think, thankfully not on this album) I would have bought more of their stuff years ago.
Now I have just ordered 3 more T? CDs after hearing the also excellent, Semi-Detached CD. (Troublegum remains the top album for me though)
Album comes at you snarling with biting lyrics, & as its foaming mouth roars in your ears, you will be devoured by this infectious cd!

You aint heard it why???
All Time Pop Punk Classic!
1994 - Ah! Them were the days kids. Long hair, long lie ins and skipping lectures to go to the pub!
2008 - Mortgage, 2 kids, no hair and a Job.
Times change kids, but one thing hasn't! Troublegum still blows me away to this day!!!! It's gotta be in my all time top 5 (Metallica - Master Of Puppets, Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast, Slayer - Reign In Blood, and AC/DC - Back In Black taking up the other 4 places in no particular order).
Straight in with no kissing - The crunching riff of KNIVES grabs you by the proverbials, and off we go on this awesome rollercoaster of an album. The perfect pop punk of SCREAMAGER follows, with that Beavis & Butthead main riff, and a chorus that Green Day would kill for. Other highlights include the pop metal of NOWHERE, the bruising down tuned darkness of UNBELIEVER, the crushing TRIGGER INSIDE, DIE LAUGHING and FEMTEX, the twisted, dark cello driven UNREQUITED (a song that gave us a hint as to Therapy?s follow up - Infernal Love) and of course the grand finale of BRAINSAW.
This is an album full of classics, and many of the tracks still feature in Therapy?s live set to this day. BUY OR DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolute Classic
So you call yourself a music fan? And you don't own Troublegum? You should be ashamed of yourself! Where do you start with Troublegum? Infectious melody? Magnificent drumming? Great catthcy lyrics?
Basically this album has it all, its a perfect balance of pop/rock with a touch of teen angst and dark humour for good measure.
Do yourself a favour...own it.
