Average customer review:Product Description
The former frontman for House of Pain sheds the hip-hop-only mode and steps out into the world of rock with this release. Tapping into the social structure of rock, Everlast keepshis rap credibility but blesses the skateboard kids with r&r vibes, making a brilliant texture of hip-hop beats and six-string melodies. "What It's Like", the album's first single, enjoyed a much-deserved rise towards the top of the charts.
Produced by John Gamble and the SD50, WHITEY FORD contains tracks that offer the lyrical depth and social relevanceEverlast has always been known for. Tracks like "Ends", "Praise the Lord" and "Death Comes Callin'" show why Everlast remained on the scene for more than a decade. Guest appearances from Sadat X of Brand Nubian, Bronx Style Bob and Casual, along with interludes from Guru, Prince Paul, and Sen Dog from Cypress Hill keep plenty of flavour flowin' throughout the album.

Customer Reviews
Excellent break out album
This is one of my favourite albums. Its one of the few examples I've ever heard of a rapper actually showing some musical talent outside a mixing desk.
Everlast hasn't really topped this one. Subsequent albums have, to me, sounded like weak imitations of this classic.
Alongside some adequate hip-hop (which I can take or leave to be honest) and the mandatory 'shout outs' from his celeb mates, there are some really cracking guitar led tracks showing some real blues feeling and talent. A pity there aren't more tracks as good as 'Ends' and 'What Its Like', There are a couple of more thoughtful hip-hop tracks as well - one deals with a mouthy rapper getting humbled out by an act of God (basically semi-autobiographical), the other the reflections of a man who didn't know how good he had it until he let her get away (one we can probably all relate to to some degree).
A great example of what CAN be done with a guitar, a mixer, and a bit of soul. Certainly worth a listen.
