Great mix of songs and poems
I've always been a fan of Hegley ever since I bought his book 5 Sugars Please, and when I saw that this CD was on Amazon, I had to get it, as I couldn't find it in the shops. Basically this is a FUN mixture of spoken poetry and songs - probably the nearest it gets to being serious is Death Of A Dog and Seaing The Sea, but it is never sombre.

A Comedy Classic
Put simply, this CD is a comedy classic. A personal favourite poem of mine being Miserable Malcolm From Morecombe. Every poem / track has its own distinct personality. A great audio buy for fans of Hegleys books.

Funny, funny, funny.
I saw John Hegley at the Edinburgh Festival in 1992 and this CD seems to be all the poems and songs I have been trying to tell all my mates about for years. John Hegley is someone to be listened to indeed. The simplicity of the lines and delivery is beguling and almost hides the imense subtlety of the form he is single handedly both revelling in and lampooning. Champion
