Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Recorded during Tina Turner's 1987 Private Dancer European tour, which visited 15 countries and attracted an audience in excess of 1.7 million, this album includes live versions of all of her hits: from her days with Ike to the song that heralded her return, "Let's Stay Together", as well as other favourites like "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "What's Love Got To Do With It." All the tracks are branded with her inimitable style: lusty vocals combined with an palpable sense of energy and joy. Eric Clapton joins her on stage for a rendition of Tearing Us Apart and Bryan Adams somehow manages to match her energy during their duet "It's Only Love," but it's David Bowie who gets the biggest reception when the two perform fantastic versions of his hits "Tonight" and "Let's Dance." --Carina Trimingham

CD Description
A slick, well programmed document of Turner's 87-88 World Tour. Disc one mostly consists of hits from her comeback period, with particularly strong versions of signature songs like "Private Dancer", "What's Love Got to Do With It", and theunarguable "Better Be Good to Me". Disc two, however, has songs from her days with husband Ike (the autobiographical rocker "Nutbush City Limits"), '60s r&b classics ("Land of a Thousand Dances", Wilson Pickett's "In the Midnight Hour") and some celebrity duets. David Bowie drops by to co-croon hishit "Let's Dance", Eric Clapton and Robert Cray dispense hot guitar licks on, respectively, "Tearing Us Apart" and Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come", and Bryan Adams nearly rips his lungs out trying to keep up with Tina on "It's Only Love". A very satisfying package.

Ms T Turner At Her Very Best!5
The 'Stadium Rock' phase of the 1980s was pretty much totally male dominated with one exception - and she needs no introduction! In this two CD set, Tina Turner proves exactly why people still go crazy for her concert tickets.

From the storming opening track 'What You Get Is What You See' to the soothing ending of 'Paradise Is Here', Turner demonstrates what live performing is all about with her trademark energy and drive.

She is the very definition of entertainment, giving herself completely to the audience - from sharing her life to allowing glimpses into her soul.

One of the best live albums ever made!

A mixture of All.5
