Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Since the break-up of teen duo Wham! in 1986, George Michael has constantly had to reinvent himself as a credible master of various musical styles. Ladies And Gentlemen charts this journey, from his duets with pop elite such as Aretha Franklin ("I Knew You Waiting (For Me)") and Elton John ("Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"), to dance floor classics such as "Too Funky" and "Fastlove" and bleak, evocative numbers such as "Jesus To A Child" and "A Different Corner". The songs are arranged on two complementing discs: the slower, ballady productions are on the first disc ("for the heart"), and the more dancey, poppy numbers are on the second ("for the feet"). The compilation also includes three tracks specially recorded for the album, most notably his duet with Mary J Blige on the Stevie Wonder classic "As". --John Galilee

george the terrible
Oh dear oh dear . Despite all Georgee does to make himself a total laughing stock , out the good folk of this world dash to get another slab of his genius in concert or on CD's such as this . Honestly people , you can do better . Not one of these dirges sticks in the mind long enough to be forgettable , they just drift through the mind with the impact of a car insurance advert , but at least you need to have car insurance . Take it from me you really don't have to listen to George . Your ears not were designed to be used so badly .
Wham Magic Man
Before Wham George Michael was `discovered` singing in a mod band by pop mogul Hughie Gadson and the rest they say is `pop history``.
Hu launched George on the road to superstardom and deserves his place in pop history.
Gadson also discovered EMF and co-wrote their hit "Your Unbelievable" - but it is George Michael we are here to talk about and this album is a tribute to rhe peter pan of pop.
Ultimate Indulgence.
Oh George, I do love you. This is a fabulous, fantastic, wonderful album. It is full of milestone music, things that relate to various stages in my life. There are so many tracks that have such relevance for me, A Different Corner, You have been Loved, Jesus to a Child, Father Figure, Somebody to Love, to name just a few! There are no disappointing tracks on this album, nothing that I don't like, just sheer quality, perfect music and vocals. I love One More Try, it moves me to tears, in fact, I love EVERYTHING. I think that George Michael is a true genius, a true performer, a true Magician. He can make music do so many things, make you laugh, make you dance, make you cry, make you sing. It's just perfect. Like George.
