Musica incantevole5
This compilation includes most of the tracks from Anna Oxa's 1970s albums Oxanna (1978) and Anna Oxa (1979). The first disc is the 1978 album plus her huge hit Questa E Vita (This Is Life), a version of ELO's Livin' Thing. Highlights include Fatelo Con Me (Do It With Me), a powerful hard rock ballad, the soaring punk number Un Cielo A Meta which was her version of Wreckless Eric's charming Whole Wide World, and Un' Emozione Da Poco (A Recent Emotion), a power ballad with a complex arrangement. Other memorable songs include the lilting Sara Non Piange Mai (Sara's Not Crying Anymore), the uptempo Un Click d'Ironia, Pelle Di Serpente (Serpent Skin) with its edgy rhythms and intricate guitar patterns and the tuneful ballad Se Devo Andare Via (If I Have To Go Away).

The second disc is the 1979 album Anna Oxa, where having done the punk thing, she explored various rock and pop styles, plus an extra track Tea Party. The most outstanding numbers here are the atmospheric masterpiece Codice Uomo, the yearning ballad Guidare Un Treno (Driving A Train), an adaptation of Bob Seger's Till It Shines called Il Pagliaccio Azzurro (The Blue Clown) which is a moving love song, and her version of the Patti Smith hit Because The Night, called Notti Per Due. Other geat songs include the tender ballad Un Sogno In Tasca (Dream In A Pocket), the searing power ballad La Sonnambula, the tuneful pop song Un' Altra Me, and Tango where the style reminds me of Edith Piaf. Gli Anna 70 offers the enduring charm of Anna Oxa's 1970s music with its enchanting songs in various rock, pop and European styles.
