A band who have had to endure the term 'ethereal' being bandied about around their name more than any other. With theirsoulful and quite blissful meanderings, their music has a sustainable beauty free of regard for contemporaries or peers. Heaven Or Las Vegas saw vocalist Elizabeth Fraser substituting the occasional obscure lyric in place of her uniquely visionary wall of sound, and the single, 'Ice Blink Luck', even had a near-recognisable structure and a very tempting hook. Their unearthly wealth of ideas remains undiminished eventhough Fraser has suffered greatly from problems with her voice in recent years..

Customer Reviews
Their best and last good album
Of course the Twins have produced beautiful albums in the 80s but in my opinion "Heaven Or Las Vegas" is the only album to choose if you want one Cocteau Twins album in your collection but don't like Best Of's.
Make a little room in you CD tower for the EP "Love's easy tears" as well and you'll have all you need for an unforgettable musical experience.
My english is not subtle and fluent enough to review the album in details.
My favourite song is "I wear your ring", traditional in its structure but featuring the most amazing vocals from Liz Fraser.
This album is less experimental than their EP series but it is their last good album.
The big hit
The Cocteau Twins go pop! However, being the Cocteau Twins this is pop from a blissed out planet, somewhere in a milky universe not yet discovered by NASA. This is truly a great place to begin getting aquainted with Grangemouth's finest three piece twin set. 'Iceblink Luck' was the hit single, 'Road River & Rail' the tear jerker and 'Frou Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires' the song with the most bizarre title ever.
A multicolour melodic feast. Probably the greatest Saturday morning CD ever released.
Heaven is just what it is!
I have only recently discovered the Cocteau Twins, rather belatedly (its 2003), but within 3 weeks I have purchased 6 of their albums and have 3 more on order.
They are the most wonderful CDs I have ever owned (and I have hundreds).
But the VERY BEST ONE of all is Heaven or Las Vegas.
There's not a bad song on it - in fact, I love every one. Each is unique, each has the most astonishing melodies, vocals and instrumentation. And each is so unusual that even after dozens of listens, I can't get tired of them.
Iceblink Luck is probably now my all time first equal song (up there with Cico Buff from Blue Bell Knoll).
If you wonder what the Cocteau Twins are like - buy this one - you'll never regret it!
(and the second best is Blue Bell Knoll - get that too!)
