Customer Reviews
Amazing
Jonny Lang has an incredibly mature voice. For a guy in his early twenties, at the time of recording this album, he sounds amazing, more like some aged blues veteran. His guitar playing is brilliant, full of tone and and feeling. The songs on here are also fantastic. I can't reccommend this album highly enough.
Fantastic voice, not to be missed!
I was introduced to Jonny Lang by a friend, and i have never looked back. The guy has a phenomenal voice, and the album is incredible. I am only baffled as to why very few people have heard of Jonny Lang and his immense talent, this is an album well worth investing in!!!
Jonnys blues with a little help from Princes' arranger.....
I had never heard of "Jonny Lang" until I purchased the "Buddy Guy" C.D. "Heavy Love", this album has this young man as guest vocalist and guitarist on one track "Midnight train".
On the strength of this performance I invested in "Jonny Langs' C.D. "Wander this World", to my delight the album is superb, with the man who arranged the song "Kiss" for "Prince at the production helm, the sleeve says "produced, engineered & mixed by David Z. He also produced the "Buddy Guy" album, both the same year 1998.
There is even a song writing credit to Prince on the funky groove that is "I am" this track also has "Eric Leeds" playing saxaphone. (one time Prince sideman)
The vocals of this artist sound to my ears not dissimilar to a throaty version of "Steve Winwood" with a soulful bluesy delivery with loads of passion.
The album itself has little hints of funk, soul, gospel and of course the blues,if he keeps this standard the world of the blues is in safe hands. Buy this album now before this superb young musician goes gobal, it's gonna happen!!
