Customer Reviews

Getting there.............3
A long time ago some Glaswegian indie boys suddenly started thinking they were actually the Rolling Stones....
A bit of a mixed bag this. You will be very disappointed if you are looking for anything similar to Screamadelica. However, if you are a big Scream fan it is essential, if only for 'Losing more than I'll ever have' which was basically remixed to become 'Loaded'- if you can get hold of the Farley mix of 'Loaded' the lineage is even more obvious. It is the best track on the album by a mile, though there are a few other decent tunes on it.

When my ears were smaller and my hunger for pharmaceuticals larger they were my favourite band and I have only given this 3 stars...........which should tell a story.

Nt lk XTRMNTR4
If you expecting another album like XTRMNTR you will be suprised. THis album is far more like a normal "indie" album than the Scream's latest offerings. The first track Ivy Ivy Ivy is a piecde of classic rock 'n' roll with a beach boys feel (especially the ooooos) and the second track is reminiscent of one of Embrace's soppy anthems and then things get generally back to the rock 'n' roll (and we're talking Chuck Berry here)after that. I'm Losing More than I'll ever give is a slow paced song which if I'm not mistaken is the bones of Loaded (the Scream classic) and is not at all bad. Gillespie's vocals are much more dominant than on other Primal Scream album and have an almost tender tone to them. This album is far slower than the Primal Scream I have grown to know and love and suffers slightly from it but is still mostly riproaring rock experience allthesame. It is also worth it to see Bobby Gillespie's long hair on the sleeve. Classic.
