Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
A lavishly packaged, double disc selection of the finest recorded moments of Leytonstone's finest export has got to be something of an irresistible proposition. And Best Of The Beast covers all available bases by consolidating material from every stage of the Maiden's illustrious career. From the early Paul-Di'Anno-fronted classics ("Sanctuary"), through the Bruce Dickinson glory days ("Run To The Hills"), to the leather-lunged epic power of the Blaze Bayley period ("Virus"), Best Of The Beast stands as a monumental testament to the grandiose immensity of Steve Harris's songwriting vision. The band's ensemble interplay is nothing short of breath-taking and the hits just keep on coming at you with a vengeance. "Be Quick Or Be Dead", "Bring Your Daughter To the Slaughter", "The Evil That Men Do"--all of these and more are on hand to give your eardrums the kind of aural work-out that they won't forget in a hurry. --Ian Fortnam

Customer Reviews

The CD to buy if you want to get into Maiden5
A few years ago, I decided that my CD collection wasn't as broad as I'd like it to be so I headed out to buy some albums from different genres. I hadn't heard any Maiden before but I picked up Best of the Beast to have something in the metal genre. Since hearing this CD I have bought every other Iron Maiden album, joined the fan club and am looking for an opportunity to get to a concert sometime soon.

If you want to get into Iron Maiden or are just mildly interested in hearing them, BUY THIS ALBUM. It'll change your life ;-)

Open your mind5
Ok, I'll admit it. I used to HATE Iron Maiden. But I heard a cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name on the best of Cradle Of Filth album, and I loved the song. So, I thought I would invest in this Best Of The Beast. I am SO glad I did. The guitar work is breathtaking, and the songs amazing. If you love metal, but think that Maiden are too soft, or whatever, put aside your doubts and embrace one of the very best metal bands of all time. Before you know it you will have a HUGE collection of Maiden albums. Outstanding.

Quality...Pure quality5
Well england has given the world some stunning bands, truly some of the best. This is another one of them, and this is an album which shows why. This is brilliant, the riffs are catchy and there isn't a bad song on here. Iron maiden is the best hard rock/metal band out there and with good reason. They have one mother of a job with this record.
