Amazing5
A beautiful album that leaves you feeling emotionally connected to the music and lyrics. I feel this is a natural successor to the previous Bella Donna album, and lets us explore more of Stevie's songwriting talents. Having just discovered this album, I can say it still feels fresh and relevant today, I think some of the sounds typical of the 80s that are used here add an interesting element that is refreshingly different to what we hear today. From start to finish this album has a lot to offer, and finishes with the amazing emotional song 'Beauty and the Beast' that showcases Stevie's unique and amazing vocal style.

Fantastic5
For me this is the best Stevie Nicks album out there (although for all the hits get Enchanted). It has a bit of everything on here, gentle slow melodic songs to the more rockier side of things.

The wild heart lyric "something in my heart died last night, just one more chip off an already broken heart" has been sung along to by me in many a wine fuelled, tearful "i've just been dumped" moment so I will always hold this album close to my heart for sentimental reasons.

However, I think the main reason this album is my favourite is because as well as Wild Heart and Stand Back it has one of the most beautiful songs EVER written EVER on it, i.e. Beauty and the Beast. Now, for those of you who haven't heard this song let me tell you, it's beautiful. The lyrics are poignant and Stevie sings it it in such a haunting way that it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up (and that doesn't happen to me often as I'm not that kind of gal!).

There are one or two duff songs on the album but then I've never ever found an album that is completely perfect so don't worry too much about them, after all that's what the forward button is for.

NB: Also check out Belladonna - another classic Stevie Nicks Album which is far far more superior than say, Street Angel (which, in my opinion, is crap).

Good , but a bit dated4
For many, including myself, Bella Donna is Stevie Nicks' best work. Wild Heart suffers in any estimation from a 2006 viewpoint from its 80s synth-heavy production. If Anyone Falls and Nothing Ever Changes are particularly distracting and dated, but surprisingly Stand Back survives quite well, as the synth punch suits the high energy of the song perfectly. The superb Tom Petty collaboration I Will Run to You, the rocky Enchanted and the over the top but lovely Beauty and the Beast are the highlights of the album and worth the price of the CD. If only the album would be remastered, perhaps the removal of the analog clagginess would free the title track and others from a layer or two of excess production. Bella Donna's crisp conflation of rock and country music was a revelation of Nicks' talent as a solo artist but Wild Heart's mix of rock and synth pop is less successful, burying Stevie's work in unnecessary sonic accessories.
