EVOLUTION proves to be a rather prophetic title for this release from the famed R&B quartet. The album finds Boyz II Men growing musically and emotionally, and all the songs here demonstrate the added depth that is the result of the group's artistic maturation. One thing that hasn't changed is the silky-smooth harmonies that are the band's trademark. Their elegantly intertwining voices lead you gently through ballads about both good times and bad. The production is state-of-the-art as usual, underlining the strength of the material. EVOLUTION finds the boys strutting their stuff as full-grownmen.

Customer Reviews
All that you could expect and more...
Evolution is the third offering from the Boyz (not including their Christmas Interpretations album), and in December 1997 the album had gone double platinum.
The album is packed with quality tracks. In my opinion all but one of the tracks (Girl in the Life Magazine) are world class.
After listening to this album, it is easy to see why Boyz II Men have won an American Music Award (for Favourite Soul/R&B Band), 2 Grammy's (nominated for many more over the years), and won various other awards over the years.
This album had a lot to live up to; their previous offering, II, went twelve times platinum (in under 2 years) - and I think they have exceeded all that was expected of them.
Tracks to note include Doin Just Fine, Never, 4 Seasons of Loneliness, A Song for Mama and Human II.
Other recommendations not on this album include II and Nathan Michael Shawn Wanya. Also look out for a song by Shawn Stockman entitled 'Visions of a Sunset' (found on an album called Mr. Holland's Opus); it is a chilled out song that pleases the mind and captures the heart.

Soulful, Real R&B
This album is REAL R&B. This album is rightly called 'Evoloution' as it documents the bands change in style of music from when they were signed with Motown records. The songs 'Doin just fine', 'Never', '4 seasons of lonleiness' and 'A song for muma' display the groups perfect use of harmony and ability for great song writing. This album has the ability to make you cry, warm the soul and move the body! Dont settle for anything less! A well deserved 5 stars!
