She has stolen my heart with this one !
Regina Belle shot to fame in 1989 with her single, 'Baby Come To Me' -- from her album "Stay With Me" -- which was a perfect example of the jazz-tinged soul-pop balladry which she had been recording since the mid 1980's.
The title of this 'best of ' collection was also Belle's worldwide hit single. The material featured here has been selected from her four studio albums which were recorded between 1987 and 1995.

The irrisistible rise of Regina Belle.
Oh yes : the soulful, jazzy sounds of Regina Belle !!

I happened to come across this cd on Amazon quite by accident. Having never heard of Regina Belle I did play some of the sound samples and loved everyone of them.
After that I decided to purchase the CD. Every time I play it I like it just that much more.

Her voice reminds me a little of Billie Holiday with a helping of Dinah Washington, Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle thrown in.
Soulful, elegant, powerful and beautiful vocal stylings all in one voice, amazing. It is very easy to get caught up in the emotion of the songs that she is singing because she makes the songs so personal.

"Didn't I blow your mind" : this is one of my favourite songs by the Stylistics and I didn't think that anyone could do it better and then I heard Regina Belle sing it and I was totally blown away. What an incredible voice and style!

Another one which I like a lot is "Baby come to me" ,and this has become her signature song.

"Love TKO" , originally a Teddy Pendegrass hit, truly is brought back to life by Regina with the amazing power and class in her unique, inimitable voice.

My # is the "Aladdin's" Grammy winner love-theme with Peabo Bryson. What a song , what a voice ,what a duet! Absolutely astounding and beautiful.

Every song on this fantastic compilation is a great listen. Both the production and engineering are done very well and serve to highlight Regina's style.

What we have here are fourteen great songs made better by the fact that Regina Belle is singing them.
If you like the sound of a stunning female voice, then this album is for you.

Pure listening pleasure, over and over and over........
Very few female artists would I dare listen to on CD--a cappella in a room with no other sound--Regina is certainly one of them (as is Anita Baker, Lizz Wright, Rachelle Ferrell, Whitney Houston etc.).
What beautiful vocals she lends to any musical sheet, with such crisp, clear, inviting, soulful and lengthy acoustics that I wish I could trade places with her.
Truly a plesure to listen to, and I do have all of her CDs.
Do not miss this array of extraordinary & diverse singing talent.
