Funk guitar, '70s soul string arrangements, hip-hop-inflected beats and sophisticated electronica-derived mixing techniques all play a part in the musical pastiche that is Tyrese's self-titled debut. While the album falls squarely in the contemporary R&B mold, and is bound to appeal to fans of the genre, Tyrese skilfully avoids many of the style's cliches. Though his voice is smooth and flexible, he never engages inR. Kelly-style histrionics, preferring to play it cool and communicate the emotions of the songs without over-extendinghimself. While all the tunes here are carefully produced and arranged, there's an agreeable grittiness that sets Tyreseapart from many of his contemporaries.

sexy sexy
had this album from day 1 but it got lost when i moved house along with Aaliyahs album, any how the album is still deep and mr gibson has obviously had nuff albums since then. smothered with sumptuous tones and melodies, as the man himself calls it .... booty music. this is a gorgeous album and never gets old as with all he's work,the dude is a genius!!!!

Run of the mill...
This is a very mediocre soulful R'n'B album.
The lyrics are mainstream, along with the melodies.
Although there are no downfalls as such to the album, there are much better artists and albums available in the same genre.
Smooth, relaxing beats
this album is a very cool, easy listening type album with a mixture of r&b and a little hip-hop.
This album reminds me in some ways of USHER and also R KELLY who i also recommend checking out.
overall its a very cool album and a must be for r&b fans!!
