Amazon.co.uk Review
The come-from-nowhere success of Shania Twain's previous album, The Woman In Me, proved that the world was ready for a combination of traditional instruments, girl-power themes and dance-pop dynamics. Whether Twain is a modern-day Dolly Parton or a country music Spice Girl is a matter of perspective; with her third album, she accentuates the sing-along choruses and simple dance rhythms while downplaying the country elements. As a pop move, it works wonderfully for her, earning Twain a valued spot on MTV, VH-1 and pop radio. The emphasis is on fun rather than depth, of course, but no one can accuse her of being stingy: She and her Svengali-like producer/husband, slick-rock king Robert "Mutt" Lange (Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, AC/DC) load down the album with 16 songs, all of them quite radio-friendly. --Michael McCall

Classic guilty pleasure!
Shhh...I've never told anyone this before but...I really love this album. It's partly due to nostalgia; as a child of the 90s this was everywhere, school discos, friends' parties, barbecues, radio, blasting out of every other car, etc etc. When punk and the Sex Pistols burst onto my musical landscape, this, along with Britney Spears etc, was thrown out- or rather moved downstairs onto my parents' cd rack- but listening back to it now I grudgingly admit that I quite enjoy it in a cheesy kind of way (thankfully Britney has long since left my household). It's not country music (cue cries of "sell-out" and 1-star reviews from outraged country music fans)- just great commercial, radio-friendly pop (played mostly by real people on real instruments unlike much of the chart pop today). And that's all it is. No great depth, artistic innovation or political statements here. Just big hooks, singalong choruses and feelgood lyrics. It's not entirely flawless but for an album of 16 tracks it's pretty consistent. We all know that statistics don't prove anything but come on, so many million people can't be all that wrong. Go on, you know you want to...just don't tell your mates!
some beautiful songs.
This album has some really beautiful songs, my faves been 'From this Moment On' and 'You've got a way' they really make me feel all lovely when i hear them!
the most popular songs on this album like 'man i feel like a woman' and 'that dont impress me much' well, i dont like them much. but other faves are 'whatever you do, dont!' and a few others too. a song for every occasion like someone said. especially when your in love.
Great songs but not really Country music as such
I am a Huge Fan of Country and western music
And in my experince i would off thought it not Really Country music
I am a bit shocked of People not knowing Real Cpountry music Artist like Brooks and Dunn Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley but for a give it 2 stars
