Customer Reviews
The Five stars are for the music NOT!!!!!!! The Movie
I think the title ive chosen to head my review says it all.Xanadu the album(ELOs contributions only)is more of what we've come to expect from the greatest band of all time. The other songs on the album vary in quality between not bad and down right awful.DO NOT!!!! buy this album then think to yourself"He's full of it,these songs are great,im buying the film"cos this atitude will only leave you however many pounds, dollars whatever lighter in the pocket and have taken up 90 minutes of you.re life you'll never get back.so In conclusion get the album, dont follow this up by seeing the movie.
I'm in Xanadu!!
This is a fantastic
soundtrack,
combining the
beautiful voice of
Olivia Newton
John and the
ELO. The songs
are very uplifting
and a great
reminder of rock
in the early 80's.
A must for all
Olivia fans "All
Over The World"!
I must also say a
very big
thankyou to
Amazon for
supplying me
with this item, as
l have been
trying to get hold
of it on cd for
ages. Thanks
also, for your
outstanding
delivery service,
keep up the great
work. HAIL
OLIVIA!!!
Tracks are 50% ONJ; followed by 50% ELO
I tried to ask Amazon to amend the product info on this item, but they refused as could 'not verify the information' (although it's on the CD track listing), so here is my opinion:
The first 5 tracks are just ONJ on her own (maybe ELO are in there somewhere in the background, but I very much doubt it as the backing tracks are in a crystal clear, toppy, synth-y 80s style).
The last 5 tracks are ELO as you would expect to hear them (i.e. around the Out Of The Blue / New World Record era), with ONJ 'guesting' on vocals on only the final title track - and I think it adds to the ELO performance rather than detracts, so I have no axe to grind.
So whether you are an ONJ or ELO fan, just be aware of all that before you buy. Worth it at the low Amazon price, though !
