Not bad for a debut .............3
A decent album for hardcore janet fans and lovers of 80's pop. Released in 1982 the album has a sound that is between late disco and early 80's pop. Highlights include youll never find a love like mine and young love

Not bad for a debut.....3
This was janet's first album, as most of you probably know. Released in 1982 the album showcases simple yet pleasing songs. Highlights for the album are youll never find a love like mine, and young love. The Album in sound is that of very late disco but with a certain 80's vibe. This album is for hardcore janet fans and those who love 80's pop. An album you can play in the background while getting on with something.

Good for a 16-year-old4
It is interesting to see how has a great career begun. Little Janet was only sixteen when she made her debut with her self-titled album. It wasn't an immediate success, nor was her second album "Dream Street" - the real breakthrough was her third, "Control", in 1986, yet "Janet Jackson" is a remarkable album, and not only because it was the first attempt to make star of a little girl who later became the queen of R'n'B. "Say You Do" has everything a good song needs - rhythm, simple but good lyrics and the sweet voice of a talented singer. The same can be said about "Young Love", "Love and My Best Friend" and "Come Give Your Love To Me".
My special favorite song is "Forever Yours". If you ever have been in love and felt something like Janet could have felt when she sang this song, then you're lucky. "Forever Yours" is overwhelming and spellbinding like love itself. I think no other songs of Janet could overshine it.
The other songs, although they may be not as fantastic as the ones on her albums "Control" and "Rhythm Nation 1814", are good enough, and this album, since it's the wonderful Janet Jackson's first one, has its place in music history.
Don't forget to also buy "Dream Street".
