The Wonderful Life Goes On For Black!
Many a tragedy occurs in this thing called the music business and one of the greatest is that Colin Vearncombe ( aka Black ) is now plying his trade almost unnoticed. Comedy highlights both his skill as a songwriter and performer in great measures. From the beautiful opener, The Big One to the later Now You're Gone, this album oozes confidence and class rarely seen from today's contempory writers. Only Black could sound almost joyous whilst singing I Can Laugh About It Now, and I Was Right You Were Wrong. The two songs that are at the forefront of this magnificent album are the beautiful You're A Big Girl Now, and the haunting Let Me Watch You Make Love. If you like your music to stir and uplift you, then Colin's your man. This album exceeded it's better known predecessor Wonderful Life by a mile and was only matched by the majestic album The Accused, which was the first to be released under Vearncombe's own monicker. I urge anyone to give him a try and I can only promise them that they won't be disappointed.
