Eponymous Debut Genius
There was a time when Drugstore seemed to be the support band for everyone on tour and their set was always clear, dark, syruppy and impressive. Often they'd be bettter than the headliner band and created a great brooding atmosphere. I was prepared for their first album not to capture that sense of foreboding that their live perfomances evoked. It does! It's a simple (straightforward threepiece - guitar, bass, drums and vocal) recording kept mean & lean and not overproduced.
Drugstore debut
If you don't have this album, get it. If you have never heard it, you must! It's beautiful, easy, fast, heavy, touching, and raw. My favorite of all 4 Drugstore albums. Best track has got to be Superglider. There second album, White magic for lovers is worth a listen too. :-)
