Quiet Storm never dies, although many of its love-man practitioners' discs blend together into a kind of ardent wallpaper. So it's a bit of a surprise to find Brian McKnight's fourth album, Back at One asserting itself as a committed, highly listenable sample of the genre. Putting his writing skills to work, McKnight manages to make one mid-tempo plaint after another stand out from its brothers on the disc. In combination with his assured but never overbearing vocals, songs such as the title number, "Last Dance", and "6, 8, 12" trump anything Babyface has done lately. McKnight makes a big claim on the style with this excellent album. --Rickey Wright

Out of a cd collection of over 300, it is this cd that stands out. Outstanding is the only word that can do it justice. It's not so much that track after track you are blown away. More the fact that the key songs on th album will have you hooked for a life time. They will set a bench mark for every other love song you here. Back at one the title track will become your favourite song without doubt. 6,8,12 will bring you to tears, and the rest will amaze you. His song writing excellence coupled with a voice that will leave acceptng second best no more, make this album a must. If i have a visitor, male female, old or young. I put this on and convert one more to the ways of brian. Buy it and see for your self, this will define your cd collection!!!

TAKE THE 'LAST DANCE'
This is one of the all time classic R&b albums. It really is a must for all music lovers. Last Dance is my personal favourite. Also get his 1st album 'Antime'. This is better though..it is on another level to all other R&b albums. The songs are written and produced by Brian McKnight. It really is a lovely album that can catch so many emotions. The beats are good too. Dont judge this album without playing it through a few times! dont judge it by flicking through the tracks. This needs to be listened 2 carefully in a relaxed frame of mind. It really soothes you..BUY IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF...the don of R&B

Buy it now! The definitive sound in R&B at the moment. Only in Babyface does Brian Mcknight have a true rival to the title as the head of his genre. He manages to capture the right balance between slow balads and catchy tunes. This is his best work to date.
