Amazon.co.uk Review
Following the successful formula of their eponymous debut album, Savage Garden's Affirmation is made up of classic pop melodies and sleepy ballads. The title track cracks open the album--a song that sees Hayes philosophising about the inequalities of the world from a liberal minded perspective (and in true Alanis Morissette "Ironic" fashion). Although it leaves the boys open to claims of pretentiousness, the song is a high-powered introduction to an album which somehow manages to alternate between safe and risky. For example, "The Animal Song" is a menagerie of popular music sounds, which manages to be challenging while remaining comfortably familiar. Affirmation is an album that affirms why Savage Garden are one of the world's most important pop duos. --John Galilee

A super buy for all Savage Garden Fans
If you already have the savage garden affirmation, I wouldnt recommend buying this album just for the extra live disc, but if you dont, and you had your eye on this, then get it! The live disc really adds flavour to the music and puts a real spin into all the most popular songs, and the music is still crystal clear!
I'm not a mad fan of Savage Garden, but I really loved the 2CD's. Even newbies will recognise the majority of the songs from the charts.
Its definatly worth the money! (and with ALL the words to ALL the songs on the inside cover, you cant go wrong!)
Very soulful, bubbly, and erm..well, just listen to those fans scream! Best appreciated turned up full blast, crusing in the car, hood down!
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Savage Garden, and this album proves just how good a band they are! Darren's voice is just amazing and beautiful, he makes all the songs come to life! The bonus disc is a a really nice treat because it just adds to the power of the album, giving it even more of a vibe! Here's my review of the songs:

THE ANIMAL SONG: 4.5/5 - Original! What can I say, never heard anything like it! It's lively and happy!
THE LOVER AFTER ME: 4.5/5 - A good mid-tempo guitary song, very good!!
TWO BEDS AND A COFFEE MACHINE: 3/5 - Not the best song, but very meaningful, good lyrics.
YOU CAN STILL BE FREE: 4/5 - Another original song, shows how great Darren's voice is!
GUNNING DOWN ROMANCE: 4/5 - A song with feeling, sounds good!
I DON'T KNOW YOU ANYMORE: 3/5 - Ok, not so much my style, still nice.
Overall it's a pretty wicked album! Definately one of my favourites! RIP Savage Garden - The best band in the world!!
Amazing! Fun! Catchy! Poignant!
I won't deal with this song by song as I could talk for hours on end. The album as a whole is absolutely and utterly fantastic. Darren Hayes has a truly wonderful vocal range.
Some of the more poignant songs (I Dont Know You Anymore, Crash and Burn, Two Beds and a Coffee Machine) send chills up the spine.
The more upbeat songs (Affirmation and The Animal Song) have you singing along at the top of your voice (and get you funny looks from other drivers if you happen to be playing the album in your car!
An absolute "must-have" album! Even my 8 year old son plays this album non stop and knows all the words to each and every song.
Brilliant. Its only fault.......not enough songs!
