A must for any Joshua Bell fan!
Joshua Bell plays both the Sibelius and the Goldmark concertos with ease and incredible fluidity. His style is amazing on both concertos, and unlike many violinists of the second half of the 20th century, he doesn't attack at the fuller sounds and doesn't strain the light notes. His cadenza in the first movement of the Sibelius (Allegro Moderato) is perfect. Bell was also the violinist responsible for all violin solos in the movie, "The Red Violin." Teaming himself up with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philarmonic, the soundtrack went on to win numerous awards from around the world, including an Academy Award for Best Score. The result of the soundtrack was flawless. This, of course, was because of the combinatory success of Bell, Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Now, Bell, Salonen and the L.A. Philarmonic return with more incredible masterpieces.
