Misunderstood!4
Although not the best ever Catatonia single, this was only ever meant to be, in Cerys Matthews' own words, "a bit of a laugh", as anyone who saw her performance of it on TFI Friday, complete with cowboy outfits and drag queens will testify! A catchy, upbeat tune that doesn't take itself seriously, and one that didn't deserve the slagging and poor chart position it received.

Karaoke Has-Been2
Following the releases of the excellent "Way Beyond Blue" and the more commercially successful "International Velvet" albums, Catatonia showed great promise. Not only did they have the husky, charasmatic Cerys Matthews, but also the band.

This single released from their somewhat dissapointing follow-up "Equally cursed and blessed" album, this single doesn't match up to the previous anthems "Mulder & Scully" or "I Am The Mob".

Karaoke Queen is a poor choice as a single, there were more obvious selections on the album. Although this seems aimed at the more impressionable early teen market. It's saving grace is the tongue-in-cheek video, featuring Cerys in a silver cowboy outfit.
