Album Description
Capturing Timi at the legendary P.J.s club in 1969, the original album release on Liberty was issued only in the US, and quickly withdrawn.
The album has been digitally remastered and enhanced by the reinstatement of the two other songs recorded across that weekend in April '69.
Bonus tracks have also been added in the form of alternate takes recorded on different nights, of three of the songs, all recently mixed down from the original 1" multi track masters.
The sound is very soulful and Timi is backed by a very tight `Stax-sounding' house band, and she performs with her customary passion...
Customer Reviews
Her only live album
This album was released and then quickly withdrawn as Timi wasn't too happy with the quality of the sound balance.
It is a great album, with Timi showing what a fantastic soul singer she was. She loved the Stax/Altantic type of material she sings here, and it's a shame she didn't do more of this type of work as she was literally wasted by her recoding company. I am sure they were unaware they had the greatest white blues singer signed to them, and just should have let her record the material that she wanted to.
A couple of tracks are repeated as it was recorded over two nights, but to hear her sing Otis Redding material etc is truly wonderful. She even sings some of her old hits and makes them sound almost as if they were new to her. What a singer
