Customer Reviews

Feel the heat4
Summerslam 1996 is the oldest PPV I've got (for now), and even though it happened 8 years ago, it is still a great event.

1: Savio Vega VS. Owen Hart
A good match to open up the show with. 8/10

2: 4 Team Elimination Match for the Tag Team Championships
The Smoking Gunns (Champions) VS. The Body Donnas VS. The Godwinns VS. The New Rockers
Another good match. A bit slow in some places, but other than that, good. 8/10

3: Sycho Sid VS. British Bulldog
This match seemed quite short for a PPV match, but it was okay while it lasted. 7/10

4: Marc Mero VS. Goldust
Nothing too spectacular, but not bad either. 7.5/10

5: Jerry Lawler VS. Jake Roberts
Not much of a match, but more of a chance for Lawler to make fun of Robert's drinking problme from the past. Lawler gets snaked though. 7/10

6: Boiler Room Brawl - Mankind VS. The Undertaker
The best match on the card. There is some interference at a few points, and there isn't a lot of commentary whilst they're in the boiler room, but it doesn't stop this match from being great. 9.5/10

7: WWF Championship - Shawn Michaels (Champion) VS. Vader
This match gets restarted twice, and is all about Shawn Michaels trying to overcome the giant Vader. 8.5/10

Summerslam 1996 may not be the greatest PPV of all time, but it is still worth buying.

A good all-round ppv. Hardcore fans will want!5
I would actually give this 4 stars but gave it 5 to counter the [other] score... Hardcore style fans will love the boiler room brawl on it's own as it's 17 minutes of pain (not counting when they get out of the boiler room). And since when did boiler rooms come with massive danger signs on them? A strong main event, great bit of stand-up from Jerry "The King" Lawler with a funny match and the Bulldog vs Sid is a good match. This was Let down by a slightly poor under card of Owen vs. Savio Vega and Goldy vs Marc Mero as they were slow and plodding matches. The free for all match is easily one of the best as Stone Cold is on top form, and Yokozuna isn't because he fell off the ropes, and the four-corner tag match is okay as well. This is not a waste of money but there are better ppv's out there *cough* Royal Rumble 96, wink. Read my review for it if you want! But the Boiler room brawl is a must for the hardcore fan. The best Free for all ever.
