WWF No Way Out: The Final Road To Wrestlemania!4
WWF No Way Out 98' is probably the second best pay-per-view event of 1998, right next to Wrestlemania 14. The event takes place in Texas, with an 8 man main event featuring Steve Austin, Owen Hart, Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk)and Cactus Jack versus Triple H, The New Age Outlaws and Savio Vega (filling in for an injured Shawn Michaels). Like Wrestlemania 14, the countdown show isn't much fun (thanks to the abysmal presenting abilities of Michael Hayes and Sunny), but once the show starts proper, WWF fans get what they deserve.

The opening match featuring The Headbangers versus Marc Mero and Goldust is an excellent curtain-raiser, and sees the relationship between Sable and Mero reach boiling point. The Light Heavyweight Title clash between Taka and Pantera is a jaw-dropping high-flying affair, with some hilarious commentary provided by Jerry Lawler and his son Brian Christopher. After this, the show takes a few steps backward, with a truly rotten bout between The Quebeccers and The Godwinns.

The other bouts are great, however. Kane and Vader deliver a hard-hitting, engrossing big man encounter, and the main event steals the show. The "Attitude" seeds are planted further into the ground when Funk gets driven through two upright chairs, and Cactus gets wrapped up in barbed wire. And to put the icing on the cake, Chyna gets a Stone Cold Stunner from Austin at the end of the bout!

WWF No Way Out was the pefect way to set the stage for Wrestlemania 14. Even without HBK, the show delivered plenty of action, drama and attitude that only the WWF can deliver. Oh Hell Yeah!

3rd best pay-per-view of 19984
the payperview starts off with a decent opener in the headbangers vs marc mero and merlyndust (goldust) i dident expect anything great from this match but it was alright with a clever finish. as the night went on we saw some matches as double j vs blackjack bradshaw (now acolyte bradshaw), and taka michinoko vs pantera. also ken shamrock, ahmed johnson (now big t)and the d o a pick up an impressive win over the nation of domination, kane continued his brutal run in the federation by beating vader and then clobberes him over the head with a steel wrench. the main event was hhh, road dogg badd ass billy gunn and savio vega(it was supposed to be shawn micheals but was injured in the back which eventully forced him to prematurlly retire from wrestling)vs stone cold steve austin, the late great owen hart, terry funk and cactus jack it was one of the best matches i have ever seen action all over the place including terry funk getting powerbombed through two chairs and cactus jack being rapped in barbed wire with stone cold's team eventully getting the win with a stone cold stunner on the road dogg and then one on badd ass for his troubles highly, highly reccomended

a better than expected event 3
Febuary 1998,the final event before a good wrestlemania(14),the attitude era in place, the WWF was closing in on WCW,a good event, well, mostly yes.
The event opened with goldust and marc mero going up against the headbangers,i was surprised at this match because i feared it would be poor, but it wasnt,it was a tidy opener that didnt seem to last as long as the time it actually ran too.
The light heavyweight championship was defended by taka who was in heel mode as he went up against highly respected wrestler pantera, this match contained some great moves but some of them had all the impact of a smack in the face with a feather so for that and the crowd losing interest i dont have alot of positives to say about this match.
The quebecers fought the godwinns next in a really poor match,no flow,no quality,i couldnt wait for it to end,it was sweet mercy when it did.
Jeff jarrett and bradshaw fought next for the NWA north american title, jarrett was the champ, both men brought differing styles to the table but it worked, just.
A ten man tag featured next as ahmed johnson, ken shamrock and the D.O.A went up against the nation of domination. This was a good match, there was plenty of quality incidents and when you evaluate the entire match it was a success.
Kane fought vader in a very one sided brawl, the match was however better than i expected,it was brutal enough and certainly smashmouth in design but it was an acceptable bout.
A non sanctioned 8 man tag team match, basically, anything goes, match was up next and was our main event, stonecold steve austin, owen hart, chainsaw charlie and cactus jack went up against triple h,savio vega,he replaced hbk,the crowd werent that fussed, and the new age outlaws. This match was very good, there were battles all over the place,it was great fun and worth seeing for cactus jack wrapped in barb wire,it was brutal but very engaging,a great main event, hey i think this event is worthy of 3.5 stars hey.
