This 1992 crowd pleaser made almost as much money for Whitney Houston as its chart-busting soundtrack. A high-wattage star vehicle as only Hollywood can make, The Bodyguard stars Houston as a pop-music diva (now there's a stretch) and Kevin Costner as the stern bodyguard who is assigned to protect her after the singer receives some nasty death threats. Pop star and bodyguard don't hit it off at first, but they wear down each others' defenses, and before long Houston is baring her tonsils with a rousing rendition of the Dolly Parton chestnut "I Will Always Love You." The film, written by Lawrence Kasden, was originally intended for Steve McQueen, but the script languished for years before Houston took an interest in the project. The ultimate date movie
Kevin Costner stars as a stoic ex-FBI agent who becomes the bodyguard for rock diva/good mother Whitney Houston. He finds her lifestyle and attitude a bit much at first, but thanks to her cute son, he starts to like her (a definite no-no in the bodyguarding business). Someone is trying to kill her and they even follow her to the Academby Awards ceremony. Who hired the killer? You'll be surprised!

Whitney has a perfect voice and she sings many memorable songs. You'll rock to "Queen of the Night," and could there be a more bittersweet lovesong than "I Will Always Love You"? Costner is cool and intense, a perfect match for Whitney. Their one romantic encounter is much too brief, but the chemistry is palpable. He's icy, she's hot; what a combination. Costner and Whitney are sexy as well as vulnerable. This is a real chick flick: it's got romance, action, suspense, music, and two gorgeous stars.

I Will Always Love This Movie
Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston are both very talented. Whitney is a great vocalist with an amazing voice, and Kevin is a very good actor. I heard that before Kevin and Whitney the roles were offered to some other actors in the 70's or 80's i think. After watching this movies I couldn't imagine anyone else playing Rachel Marron and of course nobody else other than Kevin playing Frank Farmer. This movie combines action with suspence and romance and is amanigly fascinating. I recommend it to everyone, no matter what your tastes are. And also purchase the soundtrack if you already haven't, cause Whitney's voice is incredible.

Whitney Proves herself as a star
This film was massive at the time of release and still seems not to be outdated! The performances from the films stars are great, Kevin Costner does his usual great job and Whitney excells herself and proves she CAN act too!
This movie has everything expected from a blockbuster movie, sexy stars, drama, romance and a great soundtrack, the advantage of this film is we see the songs performed! This is a must for any Whitney and any movie fan out there!
A great addition to anyones collection!!
