Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
A major artist in Ireland, David Gray has a loyal but somewhat smaller following throughout the rest of the world. Since his 1994 debut album A Century Ends, he has consistently produced quality, folk-tinged songs that showcase his one major talent--a raw yet melodic voice. White Ladder marks something of a departure from his usual fare, as it sees him embracing a more modern sound, adding interesting beats and electronic sounds to the more traditional acoustic guitar and piano. In trying to widen his appeal, he risks alienating his fan base, but tracks like "This Year's Love" and "My Oh My" should keep everybody happy. --Helen Marquis

NUFF SAID..........................I REST MY CASE!5
A true music phenomenon, Gray's fourth album White Ladder has now been certified nine times platinum in the UK, having clocked up over 2.7 million sales. The album has sold over 6 million worldwide, including 2 million in the US alone. In Ireland White Ladder remains the biggest selling album of all time.

Drunken Gibberish5
Stop . . !! It what it is, and does not pretend to be something it is not. It is a collection of goood songs, nothing ground breaking. However, it deserves more than the one star ratings that some of the reviews here are giving it.

If you are looking for something earth-shattering, look elsewhere.

If you are looking for an easy to listen album, then download, buy, whatever. Include in your collection.

Bloody awful dross1
This is everything music shouldnt be: bland, dull, uninspiring, mechanical, bland, uninteresting and incredibly boring. How people like this bloke pick up awards is beyond me, but then again the kind of people who listen to this probably also like Phil Collins and The Verve.

Gray by name, grey by nature. How very apt.
