Wipeout
And so the futuristic gaming begins. Wipeout is a racing game using Anti-Gravity ships to speed through tracks using high-tech weaponry to destroy or hinder other racers. Along with Resident Evil, this game has some of the best graphics to offer for such an early title on the PSOne.

The real downside to the first instalment is the relative ease of the game. The tracks are not as challenging as some in the sequel 2097 or the latest instalment, Fusion. However, on the plus, the control system is easy, just think of using the L and R keys as a handbrake when turning sharp corners. The weapons are really cool and the fun just keeps on coming. The other positive thing is that once you've finished the game you'll be begging for more, thus enter the sequel, 2097...

However, if you are looking for a car racing version look at Rollcage or better still, Crash Team Racing.
