overall a really nice record
i agree it does take a couple af listens to really get into cross my heart, but when you are there, theres no going back, temporary contemporary is really that good, but maybe not 5 stars like some of the other records on the label, but still worth a damn good listen. 'Tonight we'll light ourselves on fire' is definately the best track, awesome vocals. (all the way through the album infact.
cross my heart...
i decided to get this album cos i was on the deep elm website... just listening to some samples of songs and i came across "cross my heart"... so, i decided to buy "temporary contemporary". and what a good buy it was. if you like your emo with screaming then steer well away from this album. but if you like heartfelt lyrics and some gorgeous vocals then get this album. there are some achingly beautiful tracks on this album. perhaps this isnt the catchiest album to listen to cos it took me a couple of listens to really fall in love with this album. but, all in all its got to be one of the best albums i own...
