a moving, beautifully crafted masterpiece5
The first time I knew of this CD's existence was when I saw an ad for this album, my attention having been grabbed by the warped face on the cover. I had heard 'Finished Symphony' on a trance compilation (strangely enough), and my sister said it was worth getting 'Wider Angle'- the album 'Wide Angle' with another, live CD. I did so, not suspecting this CD to be ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER!! This album is amazing. The combination of Orchestra, breakbeat and Cruise's sweet voice is sublime. Notable tracks are 'If I Survive', 'Finished Symphony', 'Snyper' and 'Beachcoma', although the entire album is bliss. It possesses a certain finess that puts it way above the swarms of second-rate DJs you hear in the charts. And that's just the first CD- take my advice, and just play both CDs from start to finish. Even if you are doing something else, you won't be able to help wondering how such musical genius has not got wider recognition and respect. Hybrid deserve everything good that happens to them for making this lp. The world is made a better place by its existence alone. Buy this yesterday.

This album doesn't EVER seem to lose it's appeal.5
I bought this album nearly two years ago after hearing 'Finished Symphony' on the 'Gatecrasher Wet' compilation, and it still remains amongst my favourite albums of all time. Usually, CD's come and go in my Hi-fi at a rate of one a week, but this has been a constant factor in My Musical World ever since I bought it two long years ago.

I have yet to find an album with the mastery and production of 'Wider Angle', and if anyone can point me in the direction of such a CD, I will be eternally greatful. Hybrid prove that they are not just an amazing studio act, which the first CD of 'Wider Angle' would suggest, but they are top notch live performers aswell, as the crowd reactions on the second CD confirm.

The in-depth production of tunes such as 'Finished Symphony' and 'If I Survive' is second to none, and The Russian Federal Orchestra add a new dimension to the intelligent breakbeat genre, the likes of which have never seemed so dramatic.

If there is one under-rated dance act in the world, then it can only be Hybrid, who deserve to be considered amongst the top echelongs of ALL musical producers, let alone dance music producers.

Where else in music have you ever heard Welsh musicians produce a French joint ('Sinequanon'), and make it sound SO good?

"Nowhere" is the answer you are looking for.

Personally, my favourite album5
well, where to start with this album. It is a masterpiece, I couldn't reccommend it highly enough. Alright, so the orchestral strings may start to become a little cliche, but there is so much more on this album than just the gorgeous string sections. There are some amazing synth sounds and great beat patterns, even the vocals are great. Highlights on the Wide Angle album include If I survive, beachcoma, dreaming your dreams, snyper, theme from wide angle, and the amazing finished symphony, the red square reprise of Altitude is also brilliant, but not long enough.

As far as disc 2 goes, in some ways it is better than disc 1, but in other ways it isn't. Live angle disc 2 is definately much more thumping and great for parties, and disc 1 is more chilled out, great to listen to when going to bed.
Highlights on the second disc include Burnin', Snyper, Accelerator, finished symphony, Kill city and Altitude. The tracks that appear on disc 1 as well as 2 have been totally reworked live and really add something extra to the songs.
Also, you must check out the scratching on Accelerator, it is simply stunning. Makes me smile every time.
Basically, i cannot recommend enough. It is awesome, only way to beat it, go and see them live.
