Superb.....
I bought this album two weeks ago and it has already become one of my personal favourites. From the upbeat opening song 'Change Your Mind' with a catchy chorus, to the blissfully addictive 'Champagne High', this is an A-class album which any fan of American rock music should listen to. It is also a relieving breath of fresh air for English music lovers like myself, as bands like this seem few and far between. God knows why American bands like Sister Hazel can't get any airplay over here, writing such catchy and intelligent music with mature lyrics. From start to finish this is a very strong album, whether you are looking for something to sing along to or somthing to mellow out to. To summarise, great album, buy it.....
An excellent album
After hearing the song "Your Winter" on the 10 Things...soundtrack I decided to buy this album. Believe me when I say that I was not disappointed. Although there are a couple of weak moments, Fortress is an album that keeps churning out the good stuff time after time. It's a sound not unlike Matchbox 20 but at no point do they try and be all experimental like the Matchbox boys do on occasion. Highlights for me would have to be "Champagne High," "Your Winter," "Out There," and the eponymous "Fortress." This is an album that you find yourself playing over and over again.
Fairly Good
This album was great when i first listened to it, but im afraid with quite a lot of not so indepth music the desire to want to listen to it fades away. It hard to compare other bands to this type, but it nearly breaches towards the country style of music more than rock. I rated the album good as it is okay but lacks sustaining momentum which other bands contain within their music.
