Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Having inherited Junior Vasquez's crown as king of the New York house scene, Danny Tenaglia is a DJ in demand. This was his first mix collection for a UK label and its sensual selection of shifting grooves and deep, abstract soundscapes proves why he is held in such esteem on both sides of the Atlantic. He gets things underway in sleazy style with the moody atmospherics of 2 Right Wrongans' "System Error", before the resplendent, shimmering chords of Scumfrog's "Water Music" open the throttle a little wider. From then on in, resistance is useless as the maestro melts slab after slab of rich, dark house into the brew, before peaking with Yves Deruyter's impossibly anthemic "Feel Free". Varying mood and tempo with assured panache, Tenaglia provides a moving soundtrack to what must have been one hell of a night in the Greek capital. --Ed Potton
Customer Reviews
Deep is not Boring
It starts with a echoey metallic throb, moves through clanking, dubbed-out, tripped-out house that defies categorisation and culminates in a euphoric, euphonic crescendo of which other DJs can only dream.
Tenaglia hears music like no one else on earth and to listen to this beautifully programmed package is a rare chance to borrow his ears for a while. To capture the Tenaglia Experience, because it is an Experience, on two CDs, when he prefers to play for half a day at a time, is a phenomenal achievement.
good stuff
it took me a while to appreciate this album properly. there are some really good vibes on this double cd set. but it only gets 4 stars because of a few bad apples and he jumps around in styles a bit in places.
Buy two copies just incase
Yes I would dear to say that Danny Tenaglia's is my favourite house DJ. I hear he is now gone all trancy which is a real shame. However this compilation really has some of the best house of the last two years. Great to mix with Accappellas and Insturmental stuff... favourite traxx: Mike The deepest Jungle Sessomato Moody Mac Zimms Batido. Yes buy two copies because you gonna wear the first one so quick!
