PURE BRILLIANCE....MORE DEEP SOUL5
Volume 3 in the series of Deep Soul tracks selected by Dave Godin picks up where previous volumes left off and continues the fantastic journey through the deepest of seams. From the midtempo opener, Touissant McCalls sublime I'm Decided to the finale with the desperate Loretta Williams on I'm Missing You the quality does not dip from anything short of awesome.Theres an entry this time from the 1980's which may serve as a taster for more inclusions in future volumes and Rick James does not fall short with Ebony Eyes.To pick out other individual tracks is a bit pointless as they all merit praise and attention. If you have the previous two volumes then add this to them, if however you are in half a mind to dip into the desperately wonderful world of Deep Soul make this (or Vol one or two) the first time you drop your heart off at the door. The most beautiful, most rewarding and most enduring genre in the family that is SOUL music, yes with a capital D-E-E-P !

Another Great Set5
If you havent already got this along Vols 1 and 2, do so without delay! These are arguably the finest collections of Soul music that we've been presented with. The standard is high from first to last. There are some great cuts from established artists, but the real delight is in unearthing some absolute gems from obscure artists. No praise high enough for Dave Godin whos put together these wonderful collections. Go on, treat yourself to it. You will not be disappointed if you have any interest in real Soul music.

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This5
I purchased these great compilations in the wrong order, getting Vol 3 first. All three are superb - no contest. Thankfully through a great soul scribe like Dave Godin, I've been exposed to great lesser known talents like Eddie & Ernie, Kenny Carter and many more. The quality does not let up from the opening track to the last one. Deep Soul is a difficult term/genre to describe, but it hits you mostly in the heart, and with the uptempo numbers in the feet. The UK has always seemed to appreciate American soul artists more, and this is only borne out with the three Deep Soul volumes, and the other soul compilations put out by ACE/Kent. Bring on Vol 4 Dave !
