Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
After the success of The Best "Kings & Queens Of Cool" Album In The World... Ever!, it was inevitable that there would be a sequel. And so, The Best Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Mat Monro, Peggy Lee, Louis Armstrong and Friends Album In The World....Ever! Vol. 2 provides another overview of the whole "easy-listening" vibe, this time across three CDs--70 tracks in total. Unlike the first compilation, there is rather more filler here (Ben E King's "Stand By Me" and the Platters' "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" are terrific songs, but seem out of place here), but generally there is plenty of the aforementioned artists to keep any party swinging. Most impressive, however, is the bonus disc of "Christmas Crooners", which could have made a terrific compilation on its own, with classic contributions from Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and others. --Ted Kord
Customer Reviews
An excellent relaxing album
This is a superb and relaxing collection of the best in tunes from this era. As a fifteen year old, when I asked for it at christmas, a llot of people were surprised, but as the beells chimed on new years eve, eveeryone was on their feet dancing. That says a lot about the power of this album. I reccommend it to anyone who likes the people in the title of this album-a truly fantastic album and with a free christmas album that would be good on sale seperately-a really good value album too.
