Product Description

Pokémon fans take notice. You can explore massive, adventurous realms with your own Digimon, or digital monster. You will interact with hundreds of characters--both good and evil--during your quest, so you will want to prepare your Digimon for non-stop battle action. By training and caring for your Digimon, you will enable it to evolve into an even more powerful creature that will lead you deeper into the digital fantasy of Digimon World. With a little work, you will be able to "digivolve" your character into a monster that will make you proud.

Amazon.co.uk Review
And so the latest Pocket Monsters-style game falls off the production line, with Infogrames' Digimon World giving PlayStation owners the chance to play with little critters of their own. Sucked into the Digimon world, the player is given the usual task of saving everyone's hide. So off you travel, with your Digimon in tow, as you train it, feed it, encourage it, scold it and generally build it up in advance of battles ahead.

Thus, the gameplay follows the pattern of exploring the game world, talking to its inhabitants and fighting off baddies where necessary. Sadly, while Digimon World is graphically far superior to the Pokémon series on Game Boy, it's not as tight a game. Its momentum is severely hampered by the need to take part in prolonged conversations, which take far too long and leave you bashing at buttons simply to get back to the action. And when the fights do kick off, you'll find you're more an observer than anything else.

With Nintendo never likely to permit Pokémon to venture onto any other formats, it seems Play Station owners in need of their own Pocket Monsters have a very limited choice. As it stands, Digimon World is reasonable fun at first, and for younger, less demanding players, it has its merits. --Simon Brew

Manufacturer's Description
Digimon World takes the player back to the genre's Tamagotchi beginnings: rearing the little monsters, giving them praise and encouragement, testing and exercising, training them for combat, the quest ahead and, of course, using the toilet. Combat and bonus game exercises ultimately develop and 'digivolve' the Digimon, allowing the player to progress through a lavish and colourfully prerendered DigiWorld, to save it from destruction at the hand of good Digimon turned bad...

I actually like this game, but how?5
As a pokemon fan, I thought that 'Digimon World' would not really be 'my cuppa tea', since I had spent quite a few times watch my younger cousin trying to play the game but with little success. Since then, I thought I would give it another chance. At first like my cousin I found the game to be quite challenging starting off with literally nothing. But within the nexy couple of days the game began to grow on me and before i knew it I was seriously finding it difficult to stop playing. This game is definetly for all those Digimon and perhaps Pokemon fans. This game has it all. I like to see it as a cross between Pokemon yellow, for where the first time you have to consider the concept of mood, and Monster rancher, as you raise your monster to be the best that there is! Although the idea of Megadigimon has been excluded, the conctents of this game is enough to keep you going for quite some time. Raise you favourite (and so favourite) digimon in your attempts to restore the prosperity of File City. You only have to watch the introdution to see what a marevellous game it is. My advice it to try it and see if you like it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enter the Best Digimon Game to date!5
For all you people out there with doubts or questions about this game, THIS GAME IS EXCELLENT! When I saw it on amazon.co.uk, I had no idea what it was. It had NO reviews, and I could only judge by the information on what it was about. It appealed to me, so I got my Mum to get it for me. When I got it, I started playing, and I'm still obsessed! The game is a great adventure in all, and it teaches responsibility, because not only do you battle, but you have to feed, heal, and take your digimon to the toilet! Yes, sometimes feeding it can be a pain, but it's fun! I can't wait for Digimon World 2 to come out in England! If it arrives on this site, I will be one of the first to buy it :). Anyway, what I really wanted to say was is this is a good game, so don't pass up the chance to get your own copy!

Digimon World Review5
Digimon combines the natural world with the world of digital fantasy. Interact with hundreds of characters, both good and evil. Train your own Digimon and watch as it evolves into various powerful creatures. Digimon for PlayStation features beautifully colourful graphics and smooth, life-like animation and highly detailed environments. Not to mention the non-stop Digimon-battling action! A must for fans of the cartoon series
