Amazon.co.uk Review
The beautiful game is back, large as life and twice as impressive on the Playstation 2. The game, as with Led Zeppelin's song, remains the same, but this is by far the best looking of the Fifa family, with the power of Sony's newest family member, Fifa 2001, really being used to good effect with a variety of camera angles provided for your viewing pleasure and some of the best-looking character modelling you'll have seen in ages.

So, it looks great, but does the footy match up to the quality of the visuals? This is a little difficult, as the answer is both yes and no. The action is certainly quick and varied, with play up and down the field moving at a good pace and the control system, which utilises the DualShock controller's analogue buttons, is smooth and fairly intuitive.

Where the play tends to fall down, however, is in the artificial intelligence afforded to your team-mates. There is a tendency for your teams hearty front line, swooping towards the opposing goal line, to be chased by your own midfield like a pack of tame dogs, reminiscent of school football.

Still in evidence are the guaranteed goal "sweetspots"--positions from where you can close your eyes and bag an easy three points against the computer and it seems a little too easy at times to thread the ball into space around the opposition's goal and take a shot at the net.

These gripes aside, however, the rest of the game is nothing short of a delight to play. John Motson's commentary is nicely balanced and doesn't intrude too far into the atmosphere and the funky intro tune does it's best to jolly things along.

Add in details for 60 real-life teams covering UK and European leagues and competitions, the fabulous instant replay facility and a second joypad to allow head-to-head play (a must-buy to get the best from this game) and what you have is a recipe for a top night in and one of the most impressive PS2 titles available. --James Gordon

Manufacturer's Description
Welcome to the truly international sport of soccer as seen through the hardware of the PlayStation2 and FIFA Soccer World Championship. Detailed polygonal characters are designed with the faces of real soccer stars that can charge, pass and score in smooth high-resolution animation. Select among European, North and South American, and Asian leagues, as well as World Cup national teams. FIFA Soccer World Championship enhances the traditional replay and multi-angle camera functionality found in most soccer games. For example, this game allows you to rotate the ball-following camera around a 360-degree field.

Class for friends5
When I sleep ove rmy friends house we play this with 4 players and it is class . Graphics are fantastic ,comentry is fabulus and a great game. There is only one thing that is wrong with the game the croud look a bit flat not much and the speed it loads up . This game is briliant it is fun and pure class and this is the best football game around and i've played alot so i shoud now

just as good as all the other FIFA games4
This is overall a very enjoyable game because of the graphics, the graphics are overall very smooth and this adds to the enjoyment of the game. l recommend this to anyone that loves all the other FIFA games as this is by far the best to date. Although this game is just too easy, every pass goes to the guy u want it to go to, every player can control the ball like zidane in the pouring rain, every shot goes top corner but this also adds to the enjoynment as u score really good goals. other flaws of the game r that when l was playing with my pal and l was Inter and he was AC Milan and l scored an own goal to make it 1-1 but it said that shevchenko scored a OG and it was 2-0, not bad for me but l felt for my freind. l recommend this well obove ISS as l have that and it is extreamely poor, FIFA is well worth the money

Iss pro is nothing compared to this........5
Fifa 2001 was a total let down on the playstation 1 so i was hesitant. But it is superb on the ps2.The best features are the graphics of course and the detail. The game is so detailed that you have subs, managers, and police on the sidelines. The only let down is that it is a tad to easy even on world class. But this game has certanly made a mark on the ps2 and tottaly destroyed iss pro for a change.
