Amazon.co.uk Review
If ever there was a band made for massive rock shows, its Bon Jovi--and The Crush Tour is here to prove it. So the veteran band lacks the sheer charisma of fellow Jerseyite Bruce Springsteen, or certain other distinctive qualities--U2's impassioned social conscience, say, or R.E.M.'s self-conscious weirdness--of others who made it big in the 1980s. Bon Jovi is, by objective definition, a journeyman band. But that's not a bad thing. They specialise in the kind of hook-heavy, unpretentious anthems ideally suited for stadium crowds, and that's exactly what they deliver to the 50,000 fans packed into a Zurich, Switzerland, venue on their 2000 European tour, who pump their fists, wave their arms, and sing along from beginning to end, undeterred by the steady rain that falls throughout the show. It's a safe bet that no one there went home disappointed, and neither will the Bon Jovi fans who pick up this great-sounding, well-directed DVD. Singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora and company hit the ground running, opening with two of their catchiest hits, "Livin' on a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name," before rolling through seven tunes from 2000's Crush their first album in five years, and a host of other Bon Jovi ballads and rockers. And if the 20 songs from the two-hour concert begin to sound the same, you can always switch to the host of DVD bonus features, including a 30-minute "on tour" documentary, a photo gallery, a complete discography (including solo albums), and two song videos. A splendid time is guaranteed for all, more or less, so pull out your Bics and get ready to flick!--Sam Graham

Great VHS, but the DVD is better!5
I first saw this concert on VHS and was impressed with the tracklist on the back so I baught it, watched it and thrilled with it!!!

Bon Jovi are a fantastic band when playing live, and this VHS justifies that completely. The picture and sound are as-good-as DVD quality, widescreen and crystal clear, and the band themselves are in fantastic form, playing all the classic stadium hits aswell as some new (at the time) material from the CRUSH album, which soon enough will also become classic stadium tracks!

The real down-point is that the VHS is cut down to just 13 songs, where as the DVD version contains the full concert, plus 2 music videos,a discography, and a 30 minute backstage documentry of the band on tour. So if you do have a DVD-ROM player, then you absolutely MUST take advantage of it and purchase the DVD version.

If you are a new BJ fan, then this concert will certainly encourage you to go and see them live!

If you don't already own this concert, keep clear of the VHS and get the DVD, but if, like me, you do already have the VHS then I guess its worth buying the DVD just for the extra stuff.

Either way, sit back and enjoy the ride!

BJ have never performed a poor gig4
I have been a BJ fan since "slippery", I have seen them live, I have read many gig reviews, and it's true to say that BJ have NEVER given a poor performance. However, I agree with an earlier reviewer, that the band do seem a little lacklustre, looking like they are near the end of a very tough schedule.
With that in mind, it must be said that the (individual) performances are superb, i.e. cannot be faulted.
My only criticism is that too much emphasis is placed on the "new" album, with large chunks of thier "essential" back catalogue ignored.
If you have never seen BJ live, this DVD will give you an excellent idea of what to expect, when you DO see them live, they will be SO much better, I promise.

Bon jovi, the best live band ever!5
if you like live pereformances you wont find any band better than BON JOVI and this concert proves it.i would recomend the DVD version as it shows the full concert.all the same the VHS version shows a good deal of their most famous songs.A MUST BUY!!!
